Hello, dear visitor :-)

In 1993 I saw one cute puzzle
game - Color Lines II. It's written by GAMOS by Olga Demina, Igor Ivkin and Gennady
Denisov. In that game you move color spheres to make chains of 5 and more units. The game
had Top Ten table, Trace option (to view the path on which spheres were running), Next
three spheres and ... Leader Bar (on the left and right sides of the screen). Color Lines
provided 7 colors: Blue, Cyan, Green,
Red, Maroon,
Yellow and Fuchsia.
It had progressive scoring system (I don't remember exactly). And the field was 9 by 9.
My version of Color Lines is Pyramids. It's written for Windows 95/98/NT. It
doesn't have tuning options: Trace mode, Next (preview next three pyramids) are always ON.
It has background music, four songs:
After counting 100
points (this counter always goes zero after getting more then 100) you'll get
mutlicoloured pyramid -
, don't worry - it suites for any other color :)) You may use it in
substitution of insufficient color on the field.
The scoring system
is the next:
1. Vertical or horizontal line of 5 pyramids earns 10 points. Each
additional pyramid to this line earns 2 and plus the number of its. Example: You have
built a line of 8 pyramids. So you'll earn points: 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, (2 + 1), (2 + 2), (2 +
3) = 10 + 12 = 22 points.
2. Diagonal line costs the same, but gives you 2 additional points.
Play and enjoy!
Short User's Manual: |
| 1. Installation / Un-Installation |
First, download this file (it was tested on viruses and free of'em). Then execute it (follow the setup programm prompts). After installing choose in Start menu an icon 'Pyramids v1.0' to launch the game.
To Un-Install Pyramids. Open Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs. Then select Pyramids from the list of Installed programs and press Remove button.
Note: this game doesn't have any system components, so it can't make any harm to your system.
| 2. Playing |
The game begins with short intro. To skip 'welcome or about screen' press any key (on this form) or just click. In main window there're 6 menu icons:
| - opens help window | |
| - opens browser window and loads my homepage | |
| - launches your mail client and opens create mail dialog | |
| - toggle sound On/Off | |
| - opens About dialog (click on that dialog to close) | |
| - minimizes game window |
To construct one chain place at least FIVE pyramids of one colour together vertically, horiozntalli or diagonally. Then the chain(s) will be deleted from the screen...
When you click on pyramids it starts blinking (blends with background). The next step - choose the destination point. All possible ways are marked with this mousecursor
. If the point is unreachable then the mousecursor will be
.
The second click on the same pyramids deselects it. And click on another pyrmids changes the selection to clicked one.
Game ends when there're no free cells. If you took some place it Top 10 table you'll be asked about your name beneath the title of the window. Enter your name and press {Enter}.
One useful button was added to this game - Boss!(or press ESC). Clicking on it makes this window minimized and changes the window-icon the same as MS Word has. After restoring window icon is changed to Pyramids automatically.
Note: To close Pyramids FAST use ALT-F4.
| 3. System requirements / known bugs |
Actually, I don't know exactly what computer suites for playing this game :-). But it was tested on
| CPU: | Pentium-II-Celeron 400 MHz |
| RAM: | 64 MB |
| VIDEO: | ASUS 2740 (i740 chipset), 8MB. Res: 800 x 600, High Color (16-bit) |
| SOUND: | SB-16 Vibra |
| PLATFORM: | Microsoft Windows '98 |
During tests Pyramids v1.0 caused no errors...
Pyramids uses AMIGA MOD-Plugin v1.91.03 for playing music, and some bugs with music maybe caused by it.
Maybe buggy on ASUS V3000 (Riva 128 chipset) - menu icons look corrupted.
